The Reformation of the sixteenth century-sparked by Martin Luther's 95 Theses-continues to shape the church today. While commonly viewed as a movement to reform church structure and practice, it was also a major reform of preaching. Brunson's focus in this work is on how Anabaptists, especially Balthasar Hübmaier, contributed to that preaching reformation. Although few Anabaptist sermons survive, their writings on topics such as the Lord's Table, baptism, and the use of Scripture reveal the interpretive principles behind their preaching. These hermeneutical approaches have influenced Baptist thought for the past 500 years. This study offers valuable insights for students, scholars, pastors, and teachers.
