The Healing Waters

Sixteen-year-old Billy Duncan is angry at the world, and the city streets that echo with sirens, and the endless arguments with his exhausted single mother, who is doing her best but can't seem to reach him anymore. When Billy's Summer takes a turn for the worse, his mother decides to take her son up to Lake Winnipesaukee, in New Hampshire to spend some time with his distant brother, Patrick.

Patrick begins to show his nephew a different way to live. Billy begins to feel the steadiness of the land and the stillness of the lake healing his broken life. As he leans into the wild heart of nature, his anger loosens. He becomes caught up in the towns greatest mystery: the hunt for Bertha, the legendary fish that has eluded the local fisherman. What begins as a challenge becomes something deeper - a journey toward healing, courage and connection.

On these deep northern waters, a boy learns that sometimes the strongest battles are the ones we carry inside - and the only way forward is to trust the line, set the hook and hold on.
