The Hanukkah Fairy

The Hanukkah Fairy is a funny, heartfelt, fully illustrated children's picture book that brings the traditions and spirit of Hanukkah to life through magic, humor, adventure, and a modern sense of belonging.

The story follows a young girl who feels left out during the holiday season and wonders why Santa never visits her house. Everything changes when a magical visitor arrives and reveals that she has a special role of her own: she is the Hanukkah Fairy. With her trusty pup by her side, she discovers her powers and sets off on a high-flying adventure filled with surprises, celebration, and plenty of mischief.

Along the way, the story introduces young readers to familiar Hanukkah traditions and imagery, including lighting the menorah, playing dreidel, chocolate gelt, gifts, family, and music. But trouble arrives in the form of Grizzlebottom, a mischievous troll with a serious chocolate-gelt problem who threatens to spoil the fun. Rather than simply defeating him, the Hanukkah Fairy discovers that joy, kindness, community, and togetherness can be powerful forms of magic themselves.

At its heart, The Hanukkah Fairy is a story about finding joy in your own traditions and realizing that feeling different doesn't mean being left out. It celebrates Jewish identity while exploring universal themes of belonging, family, friendship, kindness, resilience, inclusion, and community.

Written as a playful rhyming read-aloud with colorful illustrations and a touch of irreverence, the book is designed primarily for children ages 3-10 while offering humor and heart for parents and families reading together. Its contemporary fairy-tale approach offers families a fresh Hanukkah character and a modern holiday story rooted in tradition without feeling educational or instructional.

The Hanukkah Fairy offers young readers a fresh holiday adventure and families a playful new story to read, laugh, and celebrate together.
