This is a novel of the Running Steer Ranch. John and Mackenzie are the most unlikely couple you could ever imagine. He is a cowboy who knows his way around a ranch, and she is in the advertising business. Their worlds collide when she visits the Dude Ranch John works at in order to get a feel for how to help advertise it. It isn't long before their lives are turned upside down. He follows her to Chicago to try a life in the city, but they soon discover the Ranch life is what they are meant for. Taking over John's grandfather's ranch, they fix it up and have their own Dude Ranch. As soon as they begin housing guests, they start feeling the itch of jealousy clawing its way into their hearts.
