Chester Cain, professional gambler and gunman, is on vacation. Or so he thinks. The Paradise Palms welcomes him with open arms. They even provide female company, the lovely Claire Wonderly. But that night Cain is set up. The political opponent of Killeano, town bigwig, is found murdered in Cain's hotel room-and Cain's the fall guy. Cain doesn't take well to being framed, and he goes on the run with Miss Wonderly. Soon he finds that the entire city is out for his hide. Killeano's got his sadistic police chief on his tail, with a promise of an unpleasant death if he's caught. But they picked the wrong fall guy. They may be after Cain, but Cain plans to take them down first!

Julie Holland is convinced that life's dealt her a bad hand. She has to struggle just for a few quid. She wants more from life: money, good times, jewelry and furs. So when she gets a chance to be involved in a robbery she agrees. All she has to do is play maid to a self-centered shrew, figure out how to get into her safe, and share the info with Harry and Mrs. French. But then Julie starts to have second thoughts. So Theo steps in. He's a sadistic little thug who doesn't mind threating a girl with acid in the face if she gets out of line. He convinces Julie to stay the course. If only it didn't involve a betrayal ... but it's worth it to get her hands on all that money. Because Julie knows she deserves it.
