Jay never expected to survive, let alone become second-in-command on a starship. When she first woke in that docking bay, barely remembering her own name, she assumed she'd be dead within a day. However, Krynn, the intimidating alien who refused to abandon her, helped her carve out a place in this galaxy.

Now she travels among dazzling worlds and countless species, driven by one question: where did she and the other lost humans truly come from, and is there a home left to return to?

Yet, answers never come without a cost. Humans are being hunted, branded as mindless monsters. Jay is forced to outrun her past, evade those who want her dead, and confront the feelings she's developing for the one person who has never left her side.
